Living with Sitosterolemia
Breakfast
Unfortunately, breakfast is often comprised of rich, cholesterol and fat-heavy treats, but it doesn't have to be.
Cereal
Cereal is a safe, healthy, and easy option. Click on these options that Ive leaned to love!
Pancakes
I personally love Pancakes as a staple breakfast food, and here are some of my favorite recipes to use. Although most pancakes have buttermilk and lots of dairy in them, in moderation and paired with fruit, they are a great breakfast choice.
Yogurt and Granola
This combination is a great healthy and fat free breakfast option that is easily customizable!
1/4 cup Granola of choice
1/2 cup Non-fat Yogurt
Assorted fruit of choice
Chia seeds
1 Tbsp Honey
Baked loafs
Although you may think of most loafs as buttery and rich, most ingredients can be substituted out for low or non-fat options
1. Allison Roman's "A Better Banana Bread"
Can switch out full fat for no fat, remove chocolate, and use butter supplements
Eggs
For those with high cholesterol, Eggs are not particularly healthy. However, Egg whites can still be delicious and filling.
2 egg whites, scrambled
1 piece white bread, grain bread, or toast of choice
"Everything But The Bagel" seasoning, salt, pepper
Assorted Fruit
